With the coronation picnic nearly upon us (Sunday 7th May), here’s what you can expect on the day. As we are in May, anyone who wants to come to make a May pilgrimage would be very welcome from 11am onwards, although you could make the pilgrimage any time during the afternoon. We will officially start with Holy Mass in the oratory with Fr Michael who will also include a prayer for the King. Straight after Mass we will process with flowers to the Holy Family Shrine, saying a decade of the rosary and the Salve Regina when we arrive. Then we will crown our Lady with flowers and place the remaining flowers at our Lady’s feet. Finally Fr Michael will say a special prayer to our Lady. This should finish by 1pm leaving us plenty of time to have our picnics.
Thornycroft jam will be available to buy along with the knit wear, raffle tickets and some cakes. Friends of Thornycroft will have a table so if you would like to find out more, please come along and chat. Children’s activities will start at 3pm and the raffle will be drawn at 4:30pm. We will end at 5:30pm and would be very grateful for any help tidying up – even the smallest tasks make the world of difference. Here’s hoping we have lovely weather!
