From Monday 15 June places of worship will be permitted to open for individual prayer. While there will be no public acts of worship such as Mass, we will be allowed to enter the church for private prayer and to make visits to the Blessed Sacrament. New guidance will be published by the government shortly to ensure  the limited reopening of places of worship can be done safely and in line with hygiene and safety guidelines. Cardinal Vincent Nichols issued a statement thanking the Prime Minister, Robert Jenrick, Secretary of State for Communities and Lord Stephen Greenhalgh, Minister of State for their help in bringing about this important step.
