Family fun Day
A great day out for the family
Thornycroft has been hosting family fun days for more than thirty years. Over the years the format has changed but what remains the same, though, is that the family fun day is a perfect opportunity for families to get together, make good memories, relax, appreciate each other’s company, meet other families and make good friends. A family is a nuclear society and by supporting families we hope to support the wider society.
The day
Holy Mass is held at 12pm in the oratory for those who want to fulfil their Sunday obligations.
Lunch is at 1pm and in recent years we have invited people to bring their own picnics to eat in the grounds while we provide drinks in the classroom.
After lunch different children’s activities are organised to keep them entertained. Past activities have included tug-of-war, sack races, capture the flag, water balloon battles. For those with less energy to burn off, there is plenty of time to wander in the grounds, visit the Holy Family Shrine and meet other families.

Donation
Whilst we do not charge families to attend this event, Thornycroft Hall would very much welcome voluntary contributions to help us keep the Hall in good repair and able to provide the functions and events we are famous for.
Come and Join Us
Everyone is welcome to the family day so gather your family and friends and join in the fun. There is plenty of room and all are welcome. People come from near and far for the family day, some have been coming for years and others are visiting for the first time.
